Introduction

Ningbo University of Finance and Economics is a private (nonprofit) application-oriented undergraduate university in Ningbo, Zhejiang, specialising in economics and management while also offering engineering, humanities and arts programs. It is run on a nonprofit basis by a Ningbo municipal state-owned enterprise, an arrangement that gives it more public-sector-style stability than a typical private Chinese university, though it remains formally classified as a private (民办) institution by China's Ministry of Education.

History

The university was founded in 2001, became a full undergraduate institution in 2008, and was renamed from Ningbo Dahongying University to Ningbo University of Finance and Economics in 2018.
