Introduction
Dalian Polytechnic University is a provincial public university in Dalian, Liaoning, known for food science and engineering, textiles and fashion design, light-industry and chemical engineering, and art and design. It is a mid-sized multi-disciplinary teaching university that also covers management, economics, foreign languages and information technology, and is a recognised national base for food-processing and packaging-engineering research. It gained full university status and adopted its present name, Dalian Polytechnic University, in 2006.
