Introduction
Changchun Institute of Technology is a provincial public undergraduate college in Changchun, Jilin, affiliated with the Jilin Provincial Government and authorised to grant bachelor and selected master degrees. It is an engineering-focused institution built around electrical engineering and automation, civil engineering, water resources and hydropower, surveying and resource exploration, energy and geomatics, with supporting programmes in management, business and the humanities. Its curriculum is applied and closely tied to the power, construction and water-conservancy industries of northeast China. The college enrols international students from more than a dozen countries.
History
The institution was formed in 2000 by merging three long-standing specialised colleges in Changchun -- in electric power, construction/architecture and geology/surveying -- whose individual histories run back to 1951. It was approved as a full undergraduate institute and has since expanded its campus and gained master-level programmes in several engineering fields.
